Sometimes life just feels… heavy. The thoughts swirl. The weight presses down. You wonder if anyone else understands or if you’re even doing life “right.”
In Episode 14 of Mandate to Multiply, I open up about walking through seasons of negative thoughts, hormonal shifts, and spiritual pressure. This episode is raw, real, and full of encouragement for anyone feeling the heaviness of life.
I share my personal journey through moments where everything felt overwhelming, even while running a thriving business, parenting, and pursuing God’s calling. I remind you that it’s okay to not be okay, and that being honest about our struggles is a crucial step toward a breakthrough.
Life isn’t promised to be easy. Social media and outward appearances can trick us into thinking everyone else has it all together, but the truth is:
- Everyone has battles, doubts, and moments of overwhelm.
- Negative thoughts don’t mean you’re failing… you’re human.
- Hormonal changes, transitions, and spiritual battles can make life feel heavier than expected.
I explain how these challenges often intersect, making the weight feel unbearable. But the good news? There are practical steps and spiritual tools that can help us navigate through it.
Here are the key strategies I shared from her own experiences:
1. Don’t Stay Isolated
Talk to someone you trust. Isolation only gives the enemy a foothold. I emphasize telling your spouse, a close friend, or mentor, someone who can pray with you, hold space, and remind you of truth.
2. Fast and Pray
Fasting is a tool to reset, refocus, and break cycles of heaviness, and not just a spiritual discipline. I share how a four-day water fast, combined with prayer and worship, helped lift a season of heaviness and negative thinking.
3. Surround Yourself with Life-Giving Environments
Being around supportive, encouraging people and positive environments can shift perspective and restore hope. Isolation may feel tempting, but community is part of God’s design for breakthrough.
4. Worship Through the Hardness
Even when it feels impossible, worship shifts your heart and focus back to God. It’s a tangible way to declare that He is bigger than your circumstances, even in the pain.
5. Remember Your Identity in Christ
You are already chosen, loved, and set apart. You don’t have to “fix” everything yourself; the power is in His strength, not yours. Walking in this truth changes how you respond to overwhelm, spiritual attacks, and negative thoughts.
This episode is a reminder that hard seasons don’t define your identity or your destiny. In fact, they can refine it.
Like olives crushed to make oil or grapes pressed into wine, sometimes the weight and pressure in life are necessary to produce something beautiful, lasting, and overflowing.
When life feels heavy, the tools I shared: vulnerability, prayer, fasting, community, worship, and focusing on identity in Christ, can help you not just survive, but thrive.
